Homeschooling is not quite as attractive as when you compare it to attending a regular school in the long run. There are skills that can only be learnt in a public environment whilst allowing the child to become comfortable dealing with other life realities. Home schooling does not readily possess the requirements for children to be productive members of society. As such the disadvantages of homeschooling far outweigh the benefits that might be gained in the short-run.
First of all, to consider homeschooling, one of the parents must be able to devote a large part of their day in not

I have a four year old daughter that I am considering homeschooling (for a variety of reasons). However, there are so many programs out there, and they all claim to be the best. I am looking for a complete, K-12 program, and would prefer the option of mixing book & computer work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
He was in speech previously once a week with public school speech therapist and was exited b/c he had reached all his goals. Now he is, as they say, age appropriate, yet we have trouble understanding him. We start h/s with his older brother and him in September and would like to include speech in his daily lessons.
Homeschooling is often misunderstood. Many people question the quality of homeschool educations. We humans tend to compare things that may seem new to us to the things that are familiar to us. Therefore, Homeschooling routinely gets compared to public school system. I donât mind that it gets compared to the public school system, simply because there really is no comparison. Consider the following facts:
A greater number of homeschool children go on to higher education and college than their public school peers. Records show that homeschool children get better grades than their public school peers. Â A higher percentage of

My husband and I are considering homeschooling as an option for our son. He is only seven months old, but we won’t to take all things into consideration. My husband was all for sending him to a public school with a good football program, that was until Tim Tebow came around. Now he is all for it. He might not even excel at football………
What I would like to know is…. Do you feel like by being homeschooled or having homeschooled your child you have been deprived of experiences other children have had? Like prom, homecoming, high school friendships, sending

We’ve been using Sonlight from the beginning. Now that we are getting into the high school cores, they seem to be getting more and more religious and it seems like it’s getting harder to leave that out. I’d also be interested in a program that focuses more on them actually doing some studying. Any ideas/advice? Thanks!

Homeschooling is a personal decision and should be based on your family and your children’s needs. Are they getting what they need in public school? Most likely you answered a big NO to that question. Public schools continue to put our children’s education at risk, budget cuts, teacher layoffs, no supplies to work with and bonuses paid to district superintendents whose schools do well. With all of this how is our children to get the great education our government has promised they should get?
The government wants schools to step up and do better and expects them to do it

Homeschooling, in short, is the process in which children from not more than two families are tutored by their parents or legal guardians. Each state has specific laws pertaining to homeschooling. In addition, the legal requirement for the establishment of a homeschool also depends on the state.
A child starts learning much before he or she starts going to school. Usually children already know the alphabets, names of colors, names of animals and numbers and other complicated things before they join school. This is because somebody in their family took the time and effort to teach these to them. Homeschooling

Homeschooling high school is not for every student and his home educator parent or guardian.
